GB 28480-2012 "Regulations on limit of harmful elements in jewelry" is the first compulsory standard to limit harmful substances in non precious metal jewelry (except jewelry and jade) in China, which has been formally implemented on May 1, 2013. The standard stipulates that all kinds of non precious metal jewelry and ornaments (except jewelry and jade) should meet the corresponding standard requirements. At the same time, the standard also limits the content of various heavy metals in metal jewelry, including nickel, lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury, hexavalent chromium, etc.
2. GB 11887-2008
In addition to the control of ordinary metal jewelry, China also has control of toxic and harmful substances in precious metal jewelry, such as GB 11887-2008 "regulations and nomenclature of precious metal purity in jewelry". The standard specifies the limit requirements for the release of harmful heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, hexavalent chromium and nickel.
