CCC certification is called "compulsory product certification system", which is a product qualification evaluation system implemented by the Chinese government in order to protect the personal safety and national security of consumers, strengthen product quality management and implement in accordance with laws and regulations. 3C certification is the compulsory product certification system in China, with the English name China comprehensive certification and CCC as the abbreviation.

In order to fulfill the commitments of accession to WTO, the Chinese government issued the compulsory product certification system on December 3rd, 2001. Since May 1, 2002, the state accreditation and Supervision Commission has begun to accept and approve the certification applications for 132 products of 19 categories listed in the compulsory product catalogue.

It is a product qualification evaluation system implemented by the Chinese government in accordance with the relevant WTO agreements and international rules, in order to protect the safety of the majority of consumers' lives, animals and plants, the environment and the national security.

On December 3rd, 2001, the State Administration of supervision, inspection and Quarantine of China and the state certification and accreditation supervision and Administration Commission jointly issued the "Regulations on compulsory product certification management", which implemented compulsory certification management of "unified catalogue, unified standards and evaluation procedures, unified marks and unified charges" for 132 products of 19 categories listed in the catalogue. The original "CCIB" certification and Great Wall CCEE certification are unified as "China Compulsory Certification", which is abbreviated as "CCC", so it is also referred to as "3C" certification.

The 3C certification has been implemented in full since May 1, 2002 (later postponed to August 1), and the original product safety certification and import safety quality license system will be abolished at the same time. The compulsory product certification system has been published at present, including the provisions on the management of compulsory product certification, the management measures for compulsory product certification marks, the catalogue of products approved for the implementation of compulsory product certification and the notice on the implementation of compulsory product certification. The products listed in compulsory certification catalogue include wire and cable, switch, low voltage electrical appliances, electric tools, household appliances, agricultural tires, agricultural load tires, audio and video equipment, information equipment, telecommunication terminals, motor vehicles, medical devices, safety equipment, etc.

Up to now, many products have been released, in addition to the batch catalogue, paint, ceramics, automobile products, toys and other products have been added.

It is important to note that 3C is not a quality mark, but a basic safety certification.

3C certification is actually an abbreviation of the English name "China Compulsory Certification", and it is also a unified symbol of the national use of compulsory product certification. As the "CCC" authority certification of the three in one of national safety certification (CCEE), import safety quality license system (CCIB), and China Electromagnetic Compatibility Certification (EMC), it is an advanced mark of the international integration between AQSIQ and the national accreditation and Supervision Commission, which is of irreplaceable importance. At present, there are 132 categories of 19 categories of products that must be certified by compulsory certification. It mainly includes electric wire and cable, low voltage electrical appliances, information technology equipment, safety glass, fire products, motor vehicle tires, latex products, etc.

3C logo is generally pasted on the product surface or pressed on the product by molding. If you look carefully, you will find multiple "CCC" symbols with small diamond. Each 3C logo has a random code behind it, and each random code has corresponding manufacturer and product. When issuing mandatory product certification marks, the certification mark issuing management center has input the corresponding products of the code into the computer database, and consumers can conduct code query through the national quality certification center.
